Young Researchers Workshop

To promote the development and exchange of young talents in the field of statistics and data science, and to build a high-level academic exchange platform, the Steering Committee of the 4th Joint Conference on Statistics and Data Science has entrusted IMS China to organize the Young Researchers Workshop three days prior to the main conference (July 8th–10th).

The Young Researchers Workshop is a small-scale academic seminar targeting young scholars in statistics and data science. It is designed to provide an exclusive academic exchange platform for young university faculty members and postdoctoral researchers who have taken up their positions since 2020 (including doctoral graduates of 2026). Through diverse forms such as oral presentations and poster sessions, the workshop aims to facilitate young scholars in showcasing their research findings, discussing academic issues, and stimulating innovative thinking. Meanwhile, senior scholars will be invited to offer guidance and conduct exchanges on key topics concerning academic career development that are of widespread interest to young scholars. The workshop plans to include sessions such as plenary talks, panels, posters, and flash talks, covering themes like academic paper publication, research fund application, teaching and curriculum design, career development and student training, as well as cutting-edge advances in artificial intelligence.

Participants are required to submit an application for registration. Seats are limited—young faculty members are warmly welcome to sign up!

Registration Fee
There is no registration fee for this workshop.

Target Participants
Seats for this workshop are limited, and applications are subject to review. Outstanding young scholars meeting the following criteria are cordially invited to submit applications:
1.Outstanding young faculty members of universities (appointed in 2020 or later);
2.Outstanding in-service postdoctoral researchers;
3.Outstanding doctoral students (to graduate in 2026).

Application Materials
Applicants are required to prepare and submit the following documents:
1.Conference registration form;
2.Detailed personal CV (Curriculum Vitae);
3.Statement of intent (explaining the motivation for participation and research interests);
4.Full text of the paper to be presented or discussed at the workshop;
5.Other supporting materials that help demonstrate one’s academic capabilities.

Registration Process & Timeline
1.Submission of Materials: Scholars interested in participating are requested to scan the QR code of the registration form at the bottom of this document, fill in the registration information completely, upload all required materials, and finish the submission by 24:00 on February 28, 2026 (Beijing Time).
2.Review & Selection: The Organizing Committee will establish a Materials Review Committee to conduct a rigorous evaluation of all submitted materials, and select participating scholars based on their merit.
3.Announcement of Results: The final list of participants will be released via official channels by May 16, 2026, and all selected scholars will be notified individually.

Important Notes
Ensure that all submitted materials are authentic, accurate and complete. Applications submitted after the deadline or with incomplete materials will not be accepted.
The specific date, venue and detailed agenda of the workshop will be separately notified to selected participants.
